Reid Bates is the President and CEO of Normandy Partners, LLC, a holding company. He is also the owner of the Olympia and Aberdeen, Washington Express Employment Professionals offices. He has over 25 years of business experience, including 18 years with global forest products giant, Weyerhaeuser Company. During his tenure at Weyerhaeuser, Mr. Bates held a variety of corporate and business leadership roles including managing the finance and administrative functions for Weyerhaeuser’s $1.1 billion business in Asia.

 As vice president of the eastern region for Weyerhaeuser’s Recycling Business, Reid demonstrated the value of good workforce strategies upon a business’s financial results. His 250-person region consistently received some of the highest employee climate survey scores in all of Weyerhaeuser, achieved high levels of diversity among management and supervisory positions, and experienced very low turnover while generating significant growth in revenues and earnings.

 Reid and his wife Kathryn are the parents of five children and moved from Chicago to Olympia when they purchased the Express Employment Professionals offices in Olympia and Aberdeen in May 2007. The Express offices have been serving the recruiting and staffing needs of Thurston and Grays Harbor offices since 1992 and 2002, respectively. In 2009, Reid's Olympia office was recognized as Small Business of the Year by the Thurston Economic Development Council.

Reid serves on the Board of Trustees for the Thurston County Chamber of Commerce, the Business Advisory Council for Grays Harbor College, a member of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship panel for Pacific Mountain Workforce Consortium's WIRED program, a director on the board of the Thurston EDC's Business Resource Center and has appeared on radio and television programs and spoken at seminars and workshops covering employment related topics.
